DECISION MAKING
The Explanation
Almost every day, we face choices that require us to make decisions. When it comes to the big decisions of life, it is helpful to have a clear practice that we can use to guide us in the decision-making process as we seek to follow God’s ways for our lives.
This is often referred to as the ‘prayer of discernment.’
Use the following steps and questions to help you discern God’s will in your decision-making process.
The Practice
Surrender and wisdom
We must always start with an attitude of surrender before God and then ask God for insight and wisdom.
Direction and calling
How does this decision fit with God’s gifting and calling in your life?
Consolation and Desolation
Which choice brings the deepest sense of life?
Scripture
What is God saying to you through your daily readings in the Bible?
The Teachings of Jesus

Character
Will this decision allow you to continue to grow in character and personal development?
Eternity
