MAKING DISCIPLES
The Explanation
Jesus left his followers’ (you and me included) crystal instructions on what we call the Great Commission, found in Matthew 28:18-20.
Making disciples means that we have to help people live like Jesus and live for Jesus.
The Practice
Here are some easy steps to help all of us play our part in making disciples.
Build relationships: Making disciples starts with building relationships. Spend time with people, listen to them, and get to know them and let them get to know you.
Share the Gospel: Share the good news about Jesus with others. Talk about your faith journey, and explain how Jesus has changed your life and what he promised to do for them.
Disciple others: Mentor/coach others in their new faith journey. Help them grow and develop their own relationship with God.
Study the Bible: Encourage others to study the Bible. Read and discuss Scripture together, and help others understand its meaning and application.
Pray together: Pray with others, and encourage them to pray on their own. Prayer is an essential part of the Christian life, and it helps us connect with God and grow in our faith.
Have fun: Helping others become like Jesus does not need to be hard work but rather a life-giving opportunity to help others live like Jesus.
Rinse and repeat: Help those you disciple to also invest in others, so they can become Jesus' disciples.
By following these best practices, you can help others grow in their relationship with God and become disciples of Jesus.
